At our last meeting Anne Wilson and Peter Doolan (who attended the meeting in Cobargo) put it to our group that we shift our meetings to the evening which might be more convenient for gardeners/farmers. We hope you or a representative of your group will be able to attend. 8279 Princes Hwy is on the eastern side of the hwy 1km south of Sunny Side Rd (adjacent to the brown sign "Central Tilba 2km) and 1km north of Victoria Creek. After you turn off the hwy turn right (south) and follow the driveway which runs closest to the hwy until you reach the pink house. Last month we met at Anne and Peter's 'pink house' and the venue worked well. The electronic whiteboard was great for developing an action plan relating to local food. That plan is at eurobodalla.org.au/1635.html under TTTPlus 3rd meeting. It will evolve over time. A list of local food suppliers is now on the TTT+ webside under Food Audit, and Anne had her first article in the Narooma News last week (10 Sept) p6 "Transition to local food". Well done! The new time for future meetings is 5.30 to 7pm on the 3rd Thursday of the month. We'll trial this for the rest of this year to see if it works (especially for those who work in the daytime). Meeting dates for the rest of this year are 18 Sept, 16 Oct, 20 Nov and 18 Dec. The details of the next meeting are also shown on the Events page of the TTT+ website. An update on the bus proposal. I spoke to Bermagui Chamber of Commerce last Wednesday and they expressed interest in seeing a feasibility study. To that end I will be contacting the media over the next few days to call on public expressions of interest to take the plan to the next stage. I have had contact with Stan Gorton who wants a press release so I will get something together this weekend for Narooma News. I will also contact ABC radio and with a bit of luck we might get a spot on the regular TT segment. If we get enough interest to form a steering committee we can get a public meeting together to discuss promotion of the idea as well as harnessing the in principle support we have. Watch this space. The relevant website for background on transition training is http://transitiontowns.org/TransitionNetwork/TransitionTraining Train-the-trainer is learning to give the "Training for Transition" course. The "Training for Transition" course is "training in the basics of Transition for new communities coming on board, and other skills necessary to successfully set up and run a Transition Initiative". There are many skills and tips in motivating a wide portion of the population into transition, so we all need to absorb as much as possible to achieve our goals - after all, if we can't motivate a significant portion of the community we will not succeed.
